Please join us in assisting the Second Harvest Food Bank this holiday season. The Food Bank accepts all non-perishable food donations, but especially needs these nutritious items:
- Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
- Tuna and canned meat
- Peanut butter
- Canned foods with pop-top lids
- Low-sugar cereals
- 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
- Canned fruit packed in juice
- Canned vegetables (low salt)
- Please avoid donating items packaged in glass.
Second Harvest provides food efficiently through our innovative direct-service programs and by collaborating with a network of more than 330 partner non-profit agencies operating at 770 different food distribution sites. Partner agencies include shelters, pantries, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior meal sites, and residential programs.
NEEDED: 3,000 gently used/new preschool books!
Picture books are perfect.
They need to be appropriate for preschoolers.
Through 10 Books A Home, volunteers go into needy homes in East Palo Alto, and teach children AND THEIR PARENTS how to read, so that they are both READY FOR KINDERGARTEN.
